Michael Shapiro is a graduate of Ryerson University and Osgoode Hall Law School.
While attending university, Michael worked as a hospital security guard and became involved in his union as a shop steward and bargaining committee member. This experience led him to pursue legal studies at Osgoode Hall, where he continued his work and union activities.
Michael completed the specialized Labour and Employment Law Program at Osgoode Hall and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2011. Following graduation, Michael articled with a trade union in Toronto and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012. Michael practiced labour and employment law in Toronto prior to joining our firm and being called to the Bar in British Columbia in June 2014. Since joining our firm, Michael has represented trade unions before labour arbitration boards, the BC Labour Relations Board, the BC Supreme Court, and the BC Court of Appeal.
Michael has a keen interest in all areas of labour law, and speaks fluent Russian.
